So often in life we get carried away in our own issues, our own sets of problems and we forget the suffering of others. It takes a tragedy to make us aware that we are not alone in this world.
Although we come from different backgrounds we are indeed one global community-- filled with problems and issues, but united by common purposes- everyone regardless of where they live in this world wants a better future for their children.
My family has been involved with World Vision for years... we are constantly amazed by the integrity and heart that they put into everything that they do. World Vision will indeed be one of the many organizations that helps Haiti recover from this disaster by focusing on the needs of Haiti's most vulnerable and neglected citizens- the children. I know everyone has donated aide to relief agencies like the Red Cross- but please consider sponsoring one of World Vision's Child Friendly Spaces in Haiti- for $20 a month for 3 months you can provide a 'child-friendly space':
Child-Friendly Spaces are being set up to provide Haitian children with a safe and structured place to go as they begin to recover from this crisis. Trained volunteers will provide food, pediatric care, and child psychological support with the guidance of a child psychologist. As time goes on, children will also be engaged in activities and games that will help them begin to return to a normal routine and heal from the emotional after-effects of the earthquake.
Protecting children is the top concern for World Vision staff responding to the disaster in Haiti. Please join us by giving a monthly gift of $20 to support a child in a Child-Friendly Space.
World Vision has worked in Haiti for 30 years and has more than 800 staff on the ground.
$20 a month for 3 months- we all can afford that... that's less then a dollar a day. Please consider donating to World Vision's cause by envisioning a better world for Haitian children. Every child has the right to a childhood...

World Vision is a tax-deductible organization and all Haitian relief aide can be deducted on your 2009 taxes.
